What is Payroll Giving?

Payroll Giving (sometimes called Workplace Giving or Give As You Earn) is a scheme run through your employer that allows you to donate to Cardiff Foodbank directly from your salary. Your donation is taken before tax, making it a tax-efficient way to give. Donations automatically stop if you leave your job.

What are the benefits of Payroll Giving?

Payroll Giving is a simple and effective way to support Cardiff Foodbank while saving on tax.

For example:

• If you donate £10 each month, it may only cost you £8 if you’re a basic rate taxpayer.
• If you pay higher-rate tax, it could cost you as little as £6 — with the tax saving making up the difference.

Other benefits include:

• Easy to manage – Set it up once through your payroll.
• Secure and private – No need to share bank details.
• Flexible – You can change or cancel your donation at any time by contacting your payroll department.

By donating through your salary each payday, you will help us continue providing essential food and practical support to individuals and families in our community when they need it most.
