August figures show that Cardiff Foodbank continues to provide vital support to people in crisis.
During August 2026, Cardiff Foodbank distributed 1,452 food parcels, supporting 967 adults and 485 children across Cardiff.
Latest figures show a total of 14,999 kg of food left the warehouse during the month.
As the weather begins to get colder, the pressure on household budgets may increase further.
Looking to next month, Jodie Jay, Operations Manager, Cardiff Foodbank, said, “As the weather begins to get colder, the pressure on household budgets may increase further. For many people already struggling to make ends meet, increased heating costs can mean even less money available for food and other essentials. For some it really is a stark choice of heating or eating.
“These increased fuel costs could lead to more people needing support from Cardiff Foodbank in the months ahead, making continued donations particularly important as we head towards winter.”
Cardiff Foodbank relies on donations to be able to provide emergency food parcels to people in crisis.
In August, 7,283 kg of food was donated, alongside 553.5 kg of purchased stock.
